The multi-talented Teresa Herrera

She has a captivating face. Whether it’s plastered across a huge billboard on Shang Plaza or on a poster for Crossings fashion boutique RAMP, it’s one that never fails to catch the eye.
She is an able and articulate TV host. A lot of people know her as the fashionable host of “Project Runway Philippines.” Her time on the catwalk sticks to her fans’ minds.
Yet for all that she is and can do, Teresa Herrera is a talent who eludes classification.
She was a dancer during her childhood. When she entered the entertainment industry, Teresa forayed into acting, figuring in the most impressive plays including the award-winning stage production “The Dogeaters.”
Teresa was also recently involved with the Global Mala project held at Fully Booked at High Street. The project aims to bring the global yoga community together to form a "mala around the earth." It’s the perfect project for she who has been into yoga since the early ‘90s, even teaching yoga in the past three years.
The Global Mala project began in 2007, encompassing 300 cities in over 30 countries. It is the largest unified worldwide yoga event that is dedicated to effecting positive change.
This year’s event, in fact, coincided with the United Nations' International Day of Peace, which aims to raise funds and awareness, particularly for Trees For The Future (www.treesftf.org) and the Tubbataha Foundation (www.tubbatahareef.org).
Teresa was recently cast as a skateboarder in Bamboo’s music video for their song, “Muli.”
The stint reunited her with Marie Jamora (the first “Project Runway” director) who conceptualized the video as one using comic book illustrations.
“Muli” is nominated in the NU 107 Rock Awards for “Best Music Video of the Year.”
Meanwhile, “Project Runway Season 2,” which Teresa hosts, is down to its final elimination round. The show’s finale will be held during Philippine Fashion Week at the SMX Convention center on Oct. 24, to be aired on ETC on Oct. 28.
