TUBA, Benguet – Multi-national companies operating in the different parts of the province were able to exercise their corporate social responsibility to assist the host and neighboring communities during times of emergencies where their appropriate assistance is required.

The recent onslaught of typhoon “Pepeng” in Northern Luzon, including the Cordillera, has again prompted the management of Philex Mining Corporation in extending appropriate assistance in search, rescue and retrieval operations to the volunteers who worked hard to locate the survivors and the cadavers of victims trapped in numerous landslide incidents in Baguio and Benguet.

Aside from dispatching its elite rescue team, Philex also deployed several units of heavy equipment to help clear Kennon and Naguilian roads.
