DoLE 7 set to provide 200 livelihood kits
LAPU-LAPU CITY, Cebu – Aiming to provide alternative livelihood to some 200 indigent families in this city, the University of San Jose Recoletos (USJR) in collaboration with the region 7 Office of the Department of Labor and Employment (DoLE) has distributed “Kabuhayan Starter Kits.”
The program was an initiative of the USJR dubbed as the Project Pakigdait sa Sudtunggan Relocation Site, a five-year community development undertaking for residents of the area.
DoLE 7 enrolled the project under the Kabuhayan Starter Kit program, believing this will help residents become self-employed so they can sustain their living on a long-term basis.
DoLE 7 Regional Director Elias Cayanong and USJR officials distributed amongst the residents kits containing materials for cosmetology, jewelry making, sewing and cooking.
