CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — Regional Disaster Coordinating Council 3 (RDCC-3) Friday dispatched the total 28,000 Philippine National Police and local government volunteers in strategic areas in Central Luzon as typhoon “Santi” threatens the region’s low-lying areas.

Prior to this, Chief Superintendent Leon Nilo A. dela Cruz, regional director of Police Regional Office 3 (PRO-3) and concurrent RDCC-3 chair, yesterday advice the residents along the low-lying areas, especially near the dams in upper Pampanga River, to take precautionary measures in case of disaster.

As of Friday, Dela Cruz said the Central Luzon police disaster contingency units were already dispatched in the high-risk areas and placed the provinces of Pampanga, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Tarlac, Zambles, Bataan, and Aurora and the cities of Olongapo, Angeles, Malolos, San Jose, and Cabanatuan in full alert status, due to the typhoon that is expected to directly hit the region.
