A man was gunned down in his neighborhood Saturday afternoon after jesting with one of the area’s alleged toughies.

Investigator Police Officer 2 Hermoneges Capili identified the victim as security guard Tito Nilo, 38, a resident of 185 Area A-3 Talanag, Barangay Batasan Hills, Quezon City.

Capili said that Nilo died on the spot after sustaining gunshot wounds in the head and shoulder from an improvised shotgun during the shooting incident that took place in front of the victim’s house at 4:30 p.m. Saturday.

The investigator said the gunman has yet to be arrested and was identified as Jaime Bayani, 23, alias Chacha, a resident of Area B, Barangay Batasan Hills.

Despite this, Capili said that they were able to arrest Jaime’s father Enrique, 49, and Judy Bermundo, 30, who were with the suspect when he carried out the shooting. Barangay officials, who made the initial arrest, found in Enrique’s possession a bolo.

However, two other men who were with Jaime at the time of the shooting remain at large but have been identified with their aliases as Mike and Eugene Malo.
