Zambo BIR posts higher collections

ZAMBOANGA CITY – The Bureau of Internal Revenue’s (BIR’s) District Office No. 93-A based here exceeded the P1-billion-peso target for its 2009 three quarterly collections when it hauled a total of Pl,033,830,363.63 during the period ending September, it was learned Sunday.

BIR Revenue District Officer Roberto Bucoy Sunday said the district’s nine-month collection overshot its 2008 earnings for the same period by P957,740,564 or by eight percent.

Bucoy said the 2009 three quarterly collections also surpassed the district’s 2009 nine-month collection goal of P1,008,676,000 by P25,154,383.63 or by 2.50 percent.

According to Bucoy, the biggest collection during the past three quarters was recorded last August with P153,284,985.15 followed by April with P139,112,773.85; September, P110,519,701; January, P110,114,582.28 and February with P108,226,574.41.

The other months and their respective revenue earnings during the past three quarters, Bucoy said, are July with P103,179,374.10; May with P105,891,477.17; March with P102,848,844.20, and June with P103,779,374.l0.

Bucoy said the month of January registered the biggest percentage of actual collection increase over their collection goal when its P110,114,582.29 take during the month exceeded by 25 percent its collection goal for the period of P88,485,000.

It was followed by February when the collection totaled P108,226,574.41 or 17 percent over its collection goal of P92,727,000 for the month.
