BUTUAN CITY – The Department of Labor and Employment (DoLE) together with various local government units (LGUs) will hold mega job fairs in Surigao del Norte and Surigao del Sur this month.

DoLE regional officials are expecting a heavy turnout of jobseekers coming from various areas of the Caraga Region who will troop the mega job fairs to be held at the Provincial Capitol complex in Surigao City and in Lanuza town in Surigao del Sur.

It was learned that the mega jobs fair in Surigao City is slated from November 12 to 13, while that in Lanuza town will be held from November 20 to 21.

Along with licensed private recruitment agencies, the mega jobs fair is fully supported by the provincial government of Surigao del Norte headed by Gov. Robert Ace Barbers and Surigao del Sur Gov. Vicente Pimentel and local officials of Lanuza town, the DoLE added.

The mega jobs fair is offered to new graduates, professionals and skilled workers.

In a related development, students and graduates, including other jobseekers, trooped and flocked to the compound of the AMA Computer Learning Center (ACLC) College in this city last week in search for jobs commensurate to their respective qualifications, experiences and certification credentials.

This developed after the Technical Schools of Butuan City and Agusan del Norte (TSOBAN) in cooperation with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and DoLE trail blazed the holding of such job search mechanism – dubbed Jobs Bridging and Blue Desk Program – in order to reach out to the growing number of Filipino individuals seeking jobs either for domestic or international.
