3 suspected rob men held
Three suspected robbers were arrested Saturday afternoon for two separate hold-up incidents in Quezon City.
Quezon City Police District (QCPD)-Station 3 identified the three suspects as Rafjun Francisco, 22, a resident of Caloocan City; and Carlo Polo, 22, and Cornelio Nanos, 24, both residents of Barangay Sangang Daan, Quezon City.
Polo and Nanos were caught by chasing barangay watchmen after having robbed complainant Thelma Flores, 30, before dawn Sunday at a pedestrian overpass over EDSA, Balintawak.
Flores recounted that she was walking along the overpass when her path was blocked by the two suspects. At knife-point, the suspects divested from her a silver necklace, P1,500 in cash and cellular phone.
After the suspects fled, Flores chanced upon Barangay Public Safety Officers (BPSO) Nestor Uy and Rudy Dolfo.
The two watchmen immediately ran after and were able to subdue the suspects. However, they only recovered P700 in cash and failed to get the rest of the stolen items. Both Uy and Dolfo were later turned over to police.
Meanwhile, Francisco was arrested by barangay watchmen at 1 p.m. Saturday along St. Peter street in Barangay New Era following a complaint by college student Jesselyn Domingo, 21, that the suspect robbed her and even attempted to rape her.
