Games Friday (The Arena, San Juan)
2 p.m. — FEU vs St. Benilde
4 p.m. — SSC vs Ateneo
6 p.m. — Adamson vs UST

Adamson University watched Far Eastern University self-destruct at crunch time to eke out a pulsating 17-25, 26-24, 25-23, 21-25, 15-13 win on Tuesday and bolster its semifinals bid in the sixth Shake's V League at The Arena in San Juan City.

With the Lady Tamaraws committing 34 errors, including three in succession in the fifth and deciding set, the Lady Falcons managed to escape with the win that improved their record to 5-4.

Depite the loss, FEU, which lost spiker Monique Tiangco in the fourth set after spraining her ankle, remained at second with a 6-3 record.

In the second game, College of St. Benilde produced its finest performance of the season as the Lady Blazers scored a shocking 25-22, 28-26, 25-23 win over the short-handed Ateneo Lady Eagles.

The Lady Blazers capitalized on the absence of Ateneo's guest player Charo Soriano, who is in the United States for a two-week vacation, to beat the Lady Eagles and shore up their own Final Four bid with their third win in five outings.

NCAA's best attacker Giza Yumang led the charge with 18 points while guest player Rosann Fajardo and Katty Kwann combined for 31 hits for the Blazers.

Ateneo dropped to a share of fourth place with San Sebastian at 5-4.

For a while, FEU appeared to have the win all wrapped up after taking a 10-6 lead but Adamson refused to give up the fight as it unleashed a 6-2 run behind the forays of Paulina Soriano to tie the count at 12-all.

Miscues by FEU's guest player Rachel Anne Dacquis (net) and April Jose (lifting) pushed Adamson on the brink, 14-12.
