BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Employees of the 1st Engineering District of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will no longer bear the brunt in queuing when withdrawing their salaries as their district head has already initiated a salary scheme using the automated teller machine (ATM), enabling the personnel to draw their salaries anywhere, anytime.

DPWH 1st Engineering District head Engineer Wilfredo S. Mallari said their employees can now easily draw their salaries through the ATM.

“Hindi na sila pumipila pa, at nakakapagsahod na sila maski anong oras at maski nasaan sila, basta’t mayroong available na ATM booth sa kanilang area,” pointed out Mallari.

Prior to the implementation of this scheme, Mallari held talks with the manager of Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) proposing that all the regular personnel of the DPWH 1st District would avail of the ATM privilege to save time, among others.

“Noong una, ayaw nitong mga ibang kawani sa ‘di ko malamang dahilan. Pero nung ma-analyze nila na mas maganda at mas mabilis ang pagsahod ay pumayag din sila na magkaroon ng ATM sa pagsuweldo,” stressed Mallari.

Asked what benefits the employees could derive from it, Mallari said that it is time-saving, safer and easier for the employees to draw their salaries.

“In fact, parang naiiwasan pa rito ‘yung pagbibenta ng mga sahod nila,” pointed out Mallari.
