Liberal Party (LP) formally announced Monday the Noynoy Aquino-Mar Roxas tandem as the party standard bearers together with the announcement of its tentative list of senatorial candidates.

In a press conference at Balay Expo Centro in Cubao Monday, the party mentioned that former senator Ralph Recto and wife Batangas Governor Vilma Santos have left the Lakas-Kampi-CMD party to support the Noynoy-Mar tandem in the May 2010 elections.

LP’s senatorial slate is composed of Recto, former Bukidnon Rep. Neric Acosta, former Senator Franklin Drilon, Bukidnon Representative Teofisto Guingona III, Muntinlupa Rep. Rozzano Biazon, Akbayan Representative Risa Hontiveros, former Brig. Gen. Danilo Lim, former Senator Serge Osmena, and Sonia Roco, widow of the late presidential candidate Raul Roco.

LP will announce its complete senatorial slate before the December 1 deadline for the filing of certificates of candidacies.
