Ad Congress opens Wednesday
SUBIC BAY, FREEPORT, Zambales — Some 3,500 delegates from the media and business sectors and nearly 10,000 visitors are expected to converge for the 21st Philippine Advertising Congress at the Subic Bay Exhibition and Convention Center (SBECC) here starting Wednesday until Sunday.
Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) officials Tuesday shifted to higher gear preparations for the venues of the Ad Congress rites to ensure no hassles in the accommodation of the more than 10,000 local and foreign delegates for the event.
The PAC this year is expected to tackle “Economic Rebound and Climate Change” to address the present condition of the economy and the threats from global warming.
The Ad Congress activities would also concentrate on how to put the country’s economy in order to attract more foreign investors, SBMA Administrator Armand C. Arreza said.
The PAC activities are expected to contribute R100 million to the local economy with the expected 10,000 attendees projected to spend at least R10,000 each during the four-day event, SBMA officials said.
Arreza at the same time invited small and big enterprises to invest in the SBMA and nearby provinces.
The Congress was originally set to be held in Baguio City but recent typhoons and landslides prompted organizers to shift the venue to Subic to ensure the safety and convenience of delegates and visitors.
