6 groups vying for deal to run SCTEX
Six tollways operators have expressed keen interest to manage, operate and maintain the country’s longest expressway Subic-Clark Tarlac Expressway for a period of 33 and half years.
The interested parties include: Metro Pacific Tollways Development Corporation, STAR Tollways Corporation, Atty. Alvin B. Bugtas representing the Citra Group, San Miguel Corporation, Amicus Holdings Inc., and IL&FS Transportation Networks Ltd.
Bases Conversion and Development Authority vice president for finance and chairperson of the asset disposition program committee, Victor Zablan said the six purchased the Terms of Reference (TOR) for the Selection of the BCDA's Private Partner for the Privatization of the SCTEX. All the six firms attended the pre-bid conference held last November 10, 2009 at the BCDA Corporate Center in Bonifacio Global City.
Zablan said the lease/concession agreement for the privatization of the SCTEX will be for a period of thirty three and a half years or from April 28, 2010 to October 30, 2043.
The interim service provider for the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) of the SCTEX is being handled by the consortium of Manila North Tollways Corporation, Egis Road Inc., and Tollways Management Corporation.

The focus of ITNL is to develop and build a pan-India Surface Transport business.
