Group appeals on LTO's RFID project
A business group has appealed to the Department of Transportation and Communication (DoTC) to include them in the Radio Frequency Identification Device (RFID) project of the Land Transportation Office (LTO).
The group said that they have the ability to supply RFID in an affordable amount of P175.00. They said that amount was far from P350.00 amount earlier given by the LTO for one RFID.
The group added that P350.00 is too much because their group could give one RFID for only P175 including all administrative expenses and share intended for LTO and value-added tax of Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR).
“If the DoTC and LTO are determined to continue their plan to implement RFID in all vehicles they should also give chance to private sectors to join the program so that they could come up with a justifiable amount of RFID,” the group said.
Earlier, different sectors aired disagreement on the proposal of RFID.
