The Commission on Elections (Comelec) found an ally in the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) official who supports the poll body’s decision to deny Ang Ladlad’s party-list petition.

Speaking over Church-run Radio Veritas on Wednesday, Iniguez said he agrees with the poll body that there is no need to promote homosexual activities that is considered "immoral."

The Caloocan prelate, however, was quick to add that this does not mean that they are discriminating against members of the lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transgender (LGBT) community.

Last week, the Comelec Second Division junked the bid of “Ang Ladlad” to get accreditation for party-list citing moral grounds.
