Pacquiao to relax, bond with family

After his history-making victory over Puerto Rican Miguel Cotto, all Manny Pacquiao wants now is to have a full rest and enough time for his family.
Though he’s ready to talk about his latest triumph, Pacquiao ducked when asked about his political ambition.
Pacquiao has openly expressed his desire to run in the lone congressional district of Sarangani province, but he’s not in a hurry to file his certificate of candidacy (COC) for next year’s elections where he will be pitted against another formidable foe.
Candidates for local elections have until Dec. 1 to file their COC’s.
“Wala pang fixed na araw (I will file my COC one of these days. The deadline is December 1, so I'll file it before that date. There is no fixed date for filing my COC),” he said.
The Commission on Elections (Comelec) started accepting COCs for the 2010 elections last Friday.
He said he will announce his political plans after bonding with his family, especially with his children whom he did not see for two months while training for the fight.
“I-announce namin pag may exact date kami sa pag-file ng COC. Bonding muna with family (I will announce the exact date of filing my COC. For now I want to bond with my family),” he said.
Pacquiao also declined to comment on speculations that he might violate the Election Code with the showing of his movie “Wapakman” this December.
“Mahirap mag-comment diyan. Siguro ang attorney ko si Atty. (Romulo) Macalintal ang magsalita about that. Pag-usapan muna natinang boxing napanalunan natin last Saturday, karangalan ng mga Pilipino yan (It is hard to comment on that. I'll let my lawyer Romulo Macalintal talk about that. Let’s just talk about boxing, my victory was an honor for all Filipinos),” said Pacquiao.
A motorcade around the Metro Manila early in the day was held to honor Pacquiao’s 12th round technical knockout win over Cotto. There was also a concert and his hectic day was capped with a meeting with President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo where he was conferred with the "Order of Sikatuna" with the Rank of Datu (Katangiang Ginto) for his achievement.
