Lakas-Kampi-CMD names Tan as its official candidate in Sulu
JOLO, Sulu – The ruling party Lakas-Kampi-CMD has named Sulu Gov. Abdusakur Tan as the official candidate of the administration party for the gubernatorial race in this province in the coming elections.
The nomination of Tan was made known to all other political officials of the Lakas-Kampi-CMD of Sulu during the party’s convention held recently at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Manila.
The nomination of Tan was signed by former party president Eduardo Ermita and former party secretary-general Gabby Claudio.
Earlier, it was reported that Sulu 2nd District Rep. Munir Arbison has been anointed by the Lakas-Kampi-CMD regional chair and governor of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) Datu Zaldy Uy Ampatuan as the Lakas-Kampi-CMD official candidate for the gubernatorial post of the party in Sulu in the coming polls.
However, the report was later denied by Ampatuan and claimed that he did not anoint Arbison and that the issue has been elevated by him to the party’s arbitration committee for ruling.
The nomination of Tan as the administration candidate here has further bolstered the morale of his political supporters coming from the cross section of the province.
Meanwhile, Jolo Mayor Hussin Amin said the issue on who will be anointed as the administration candidate for the gubernatorial post here in the coming polls will now be put to rest, since the administration party has already named Tan as its official candidate.
“The nomination of Tan as the official candidate of the party here will now put to rest the issue on whom the administration party will anoint as its candidate for gubernatorial post in the coming polls,” Amin told reporters here during a conference.
