Caloocan City Mayor Enrico Echiverri filed Saturday his certificate of candidacy (CoC) with his running mate former Rep. Edgar Erice at the local Commission on Elections office on Mabini St., Caloocan City at 1 p.m. accompanied by his supporters.

Echiverri is the standard bearer of the Liberal Party (LP) slate in Caloocan City. He took his oath as LP member only last week.

The mayor expressed confidence that their political team will score its third landslide victory in the 2010 elections.

Echiverri will be challenged by former Caloocan City Rep. Baby Asistio, whose running mate is former Mayor Reynaldo Malonzo.

The mayor, who is on his third and final term, made the bold forecast after filing his CoC for re-election before a crowd of supporters in front of the city hall.

Echiverri is being supported by LP presidential bet Sen. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III.

Erice, who was Echiverri’s closest contender for the mayoral post during the 2004 local elections, has allied with Echiverri for the "sake of continuing the reformation, development and progress of Caloocan City."
