The prevalence of two different weather systems will bring scattered rainshowers and light thunderstorms over several parts of the country Sunday, weather forecasters said Saturday.

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said that blowing of the Northeast monsoon from mainland China and Japan will bring mostly cloudy skies with scattered light rains over provinces lying in the northern and eastern sections of Luzon.

PAGASA added that moderate to strong northeasterly winds will make sea conditions surrounding the northern and eastern seaboards of the country from moderate to rough.

Forecasters from the state-run weather bureau also said that the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) will continue to affect Southern Philippines, bringing mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorm over Mindanao provinces.

“The rest of the country will be partly cloudy to at times cloudy with isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms,” PAGASA said in a weather update.

The national meteorological agency added that light to moderate northeasterly and northwesterly winds will prevail elsewhere that will make slight to moderate seas.
