Police raise bounty for Ivler arrest
The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) announced Friday that it is increasing the reward they are offering for the immediate arrest of Jason Ivler who allegedly gunned down the son of Undersecretary Renato Ebarle Sr. of the Office of the Presidential Chief of Staff last Nov. 18 in Quezon City.
NCRPO Regional Director, Chief Supt. Roberto Rosales, said the offer of P200,000 as a reward for any information that would lead to the arrest of Jason Ivler was increased to P500,000.
Ivler was being hunted by the police after he has been positively identified, through witnesses’ account, to be the one who allegedly shot to death Renato Victor Jr., along Santolan Road in Quezon City on Nov. 18.
Rosales said the suspects’ vehicle used at the time of the incident, a Honda SUV with diplomatic plate number 20903, was traced to a certain Stephen V. Pollard, a British national working for the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in Mandaluyong City.
It was learned that the suspect is an adopted son of Pollard.
Rosales expressed optimism that incresing the reward money would result to more positive information regarding the whereabouts of Ivler.
He also said the NCRPO is confident that Ivler is still in the country. The NCRPO chief also warned the public against the suspect since the latter is considered armed and dangerous.
Rosales also appealed to friends, relatives, and people who know and might have communication with Ivler to convince the suspect to surrender.
“It would be best for everybody if Ivler would just voluntarily surrender.
He is a suspect for the crime of murder and our operatives are made aware that he is in possession of a gun, and that information is taken seriously,” Rosales said.
He also said that as of press time, elements of tracker teams organized by the Quezon City Police District and operatives from the Regional Police Intelligence Operations Unit of NCRPO have been working on some leads provided by some informants and concerned citizens.
