Ma, daughter fall in drug bust
ARGAO, Cebu — A mother and her daughter were arrested in a drug bust that yielded 19 small packs filled with substance believed to be methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu in Barangay Tulic, this town, the other night.
Police successfully launched a buy-bust operation that resulted in the arrest of Letecia Almario, 60, and her daughter Jennifer, 36. Letecia is reportedly a known drug pusher in their barangay.
Argao Police Chief Insp. Teodulfo Manatad III said his office received a complaint from a concerned resident on the illegal operation of Letecia, also known as “Nanay,” prompting the police to launch the drug sting.
An undercover cop went to the area and dealt with Jennifer, who willingly handed over P1,000 worth of shabu contained in four small packs. The police also found 12 more packs from the suspect’s possession when they did a body frisk.
Seeing that her daughter turned out to be dealing with policemen, Letecia allegedly tried to run away but back up cops managed to get hold of her. Letecia was holding three plastic packs of shabu.
Manatad said the two suspects reportedly buy their supply from Cebu City and sell them to neighbors and other users around the town.
Appropriate charges will be filed against the two when the prosecutor’s office opens on Tuesday.
