Lenovo Philippines further strengthened its presence and the Lenovo brand in the Philippines as it opened two new Lenovo Exclusive Stores in SM Cubao and Robinson’s Ermita. The company also recently appointed Axis Global Technologies as its newest distribution partner for Think-branded personal computers (PCs) to address the growing demand from small-and-medium businesses (SMBs) and large enterprises.

Since Lenovo acquired IBM’s PC Division in 2005, Lenovo has extended its presence in the Philippines by introducing a wide range of exceptionally engineered PCs that cater to different market segments from consumers, SMBs to large enterprises.

With the opening of two more Lenovo Exclusive Stores, Lenovo is positioned stronger than ever to address the emerging consumer PC market in the Philippines.

“We have observed significant growth in the local consumer market, particularly in the notebook segment. As such, we are beefing up retail presence across the country to educate, reach and engage with more consumers,” said Michael Ngan, country manager for Consumer Business, Lenovo Philippines.

The Commercial Business of Lenovo Philippines shares the same view. “Our retail presence is vital to build the Lenovo brand in the country,” declared Vicky Agorrilla, country general manager, Lenovo Philippines. “Many Filipino consumers are buying ThinkPads from our concept stores, which is why we have revamped our concept stores to include Think-branded PCs, particularly the ThinkPads.”

Known for its reliability and durability, the legendary ThinkPad is the choice laptop brand for business users and mobile professionals.

Lenovo Exclusive Stores

Owned and managed by Lenovo’s business partners, Lenovo Exclusive Stores are concept stores that carry the Lenovo logo and branding. Designed to let consumers see, touch, feel and experience the Lenovo products, these concept stores display and sell Idea-branded and Think-branded PCs, ThinkServer systems and ThinkVision monitors, as well as Lenovo computer accessories. All stores offer technical support and services for Lenovo PCs.

The opening of two new concept stores in SM Cubao and Robinson’s Ermita, operated by Asianic Distributors and Silicon Valley Group of Companies, respectively, brings the total of Lenovo concept stores in the Philippines to seven, since its first store opened at the Cyberzone of SM Mall of Asia in 2007.

Appointment of New Distributor

In addition to expanding its reach to the consumer market, Lenovo continues to drive market leadership in the SMB market and maintain its leading position in the enterprise market. Lenovo has recently appointed Axis Global Technologies as its latest distributor for Think-branded products including desktops, laptops, monitors and servers. Axis Global is one of the leading distributors of computers, communications, and consumer electronic products in the Philippines.

“Axis Global has a proven record for having wide geographical reach, strong reseller relationships, and customer service expertise needed to ensure our Think-branded products will be the brand of choice among corporate users,” said Agorrilla.

“We are happy and excited to help Lenovo grow its business in the Philippines. Our goal is to help them (Lenovo) grow their market share and deepen the reach of Lenovo’s products to a larger reseller community,” says Ricky Sy, President of Axis Global Solutions.

As Lenovo’s distribution partner, Axis Global will receive education and training programs, comprehensive technical support and access to a variety of sales and marketing tools and skill-building courses from Lenovo.
