Las Vegas to hire nurses from Pampanga
ANGELES CITY, Pampanga – The entertainment capital of the world, the City of Las Vegas, Nevada in the United States, is in need of nurses from this industrialized city, a local lawmaker said.
Angeles City councilor Danilo Lacson said that under the sisterhood pact between the two cities, which was renewed recently during the official visit of Lacson and some of his colleagues in Las Vegas, it was agreed upon by the members of the city council of Nevada to visit this city anytime next year to scout and hire some nurses.
Lacson did not mention how many nurses would be hired by the American city but he said “a substantial number” would be employed as part of the effort of Las Vegas to provide a combination of traditional fee-for-service provider networks and managed care in their city.
“Las Vegas Mayor Pro Tempore Gary Reese and some city councilors from Las Vegas will visit us next year to start the hiring process,” said Lacson, a member of the city council Committee on Health here.
The City Council of Angeles started a sisterhood pact with Las Vegas in 1995 and since then, the American city has been providing assistance here in various sectors, including healthcare.
Lacson and another city councilor, Arvin Suller, visited Las Vegas to renew the sisterhood pact.
