Piolo and KC: Real lovers in Paris?

Unlike the ending in the original “Lovers in Paris” wherein the lead character woke up to a dream, the Filipino version won’t be like this according to its director FM Reyes. Friday night will be the final airing of the said series on ABS-CBN and the twist is a must to watch said the director.
“We followed 80 percent of the original series and we inserted about 20 percent of our own... it’s a totally different ending.
On the final scene of Piolo and KC, I have blockings that weren’t all followed because the two wanted to give more. It’s a beautiful ending,” FM Reyes promised.
The change in the original series’ ending wasn’t just the twist that happened in the show. Another unexpected twist happened during the recently held farewell press conference for “Lovers in Paris” – the director’s revelation that romance indeed bloomed between Piolo Pascual and KC Concepcion!
The director voiced out his opinion regarding the two’s relationship when he was asked if it was possible for the two to have “fallen in love” with each other during the taping of the show.
“I just came from Canada when they gave me the project so I decided not to go to Paris. And then when they came back, I felt something happened there and I was wondering what it was. It’s easy for me to talk now because the show is ending so wala na akong kailangang i-promo. But something happened there that they would always like to remember for them to want to go back,” he shared.
He also observed something during the death scene that he shot for “Lovers in Paris.”
“I’m verbatim when I work. So I know my blocking and I know my units well. I know the movements that I ask. There were things that they did which I felt was very very true na hindi ko hiningi pero ginawa nila. That’s my second proof,” he revealed. “On the last day I don’t know why KC was crying and crying and mainit naman ang ulo ni Piolo. Mahirap akong maging director kasi hindi ako sinungaling. They both need to answer these things!”
He also added that Piolo followed KC to Rome after their work in Paris.
With regards to KC’s tears, the actress attributed it to her attachment to “Lovers in Paris” which was her first teleserye. Working for months in the show made her closer to her co-actors and the cast and crew that their last day of taping saddened her.
“I came home wanting to get more experience sa TV work at saka pelikula, so obviously I think I’m the most attached to this project in the sense that this was my first and this was also the first time Piolo and I have worked together which is an honor because I know a lot of people wants to work with him. I really enjoyed the hardship that came with the process of doing a teleserye,” she related.
She also admitted that she was really involved personally with her role and the series.
“This was the longest I’ve worked on a project in my whole life. And when you do a teleserye, you don’t know how close you get to people in it. It’s hard to detach yourself… I don’t know when I’m doing my next teleserye,” she said.
As for Piolo, their director’s revelation left him red-faced and embarrassed in front of the entertainment press during the press conference. Since the announcement that he and KC would be working together in “Lovers in Paris,” he has kept mum whether there was more than just the working relationship between them. And to be placed on the spot to comment on their director’s remarks had him groping for words or the very least the right answers.
“Gusto ko lang po talaga protektahan kung anong meron kami ni KC. Hindi po kasi biro, we’ve gone through a lot. We’ve gone through different intrigues and issues so we almost came to a point na nagkasakitan kami because of what we have heard and what people said about us to the point na di namin halos maintindihan what was really happening so we just decided to feel okay,” Piolo answered.
For him, they opted to keep silent about the real state of their “relationship” to prevent wrong interpretations and judgments. Their goal was to protect their “relationship” through silence.
Director FM Reyes also asked the two of them why keep “something beautiful” a secret when most of the people at the set of “Lovers in Paris” saw what’s romantically going on between the two of them.
“Okay naman kami ni KC and I think what we valued the most in those 10 months was the friendship that developed between us. We want to treasure what we had so we promised each other that whatever happened between us behind the camera we’ll keep it between us…we chose to play it safe to keep clear the channels between us. We are close,” he blushed.
So do they have a relationship?
“We have a relationship naman di ba,” he replied looking at KC. “As Vivian and Carlo?”
To that remark, KC only gave Piolo a poker-face. But it could be that the director’s spoiler of the real score between Piolo and KC is a spin for their next project together, which could be a movie under Star Cinema. But it again will fuel the belief that love always happens in Paris.
So as “Lovers in Paris” ends on Friday night, the feeling would always remain that Piolo and KC could have been real lovers from Paris!
