Megan Young’s ‘hot’ recollection
TV host-actress Megan Young confirms she was nearly singed during one of the shootings for Regal Entertainment's “Shake, Rattle & Roll XI.”
"What happened was, hindi naman nasunog. It was an accident lang. Matagal na ito, about a month ago. The fire got out of control lang. Naka-gown ako at naka-harness noon," says she at the recent Christmas party tendered by Star Magic for the entertainment press.
Megan is thankful that the production guy holding her harness didn't lose his senses and firmly held on.
"The good thing about this is [that] the production [guy stayed] calm. Nagulat ako kasi anytime, baka mabitawan nila ako sa harness. Nakatulala lang ako while I was up there.
"Actually, warm lang. Walang nasunog. Pero tumaas lang ang apoy, muntikan lang akong mahagip."
She admits to have been nearly traumatized by the freak accident.
"Right after, siyempre, I mean, matatakot ka talaga. Who wouldn't? Who wouldn't cry after [undergoing] something so traumatic?"
Megan is grateful that nothing serious befell her.
"But after that, I was okay about it na kasi I realized na nothing happened to me. Wala akong burns, wala akong sugat, nothing happened. I should be thankful. I shouldn't be whining, I shouldn't be complaining, and I didn't."
In the 11th installment of the successful Regal horror series, Megan had the opportunity to work anew with Ruffa Gutierrez. It is recalled that Megan played younger sister to Ruffa on the Filipino adaptation of “Betty La Fea.”
So, how was it working with Ruffa this time?
"It was fun...nice na nakatrabaho ko si Ruffa. She'll always be Ruffa, nice, one of the nicest people. Sayang lang we didn't hangout. Lahat kasi kami busy," says Megan.
