Sophomore Pau Soriano and veteran Jill Gustillo powered Adamson University to a 25-10, 25-20, 25-12 rout of National University Friday in the 72nd UAAP women’s volleyball tournament at The Arena in San Juan.

The two were ably supported by Angela Benting with 10 markers as the Lady Falcons won their second straight game to claim the solo lead.

Adamson is coming off a three-set drubbing of last year’s runner-up Far Eastern University last Tuesday.

In the other game, rookie Maruja Banaticla scored 14 points while Maika Ortiz added 13 as University of Santo Tomas bounced back from a five-set loss to defending champion La Salle last Tuesday with a 25-18, 25-15, 25-20 thumping of University of the Philippines.

Both defeats put the Lady Maroons and the Lady Bulldogs down to 0-2.
