Ciara Sotto’s mother, veteran actress Helen Gamboa, became emotional upon learning of her daughter’s engagement to her boyfriend of four years.

“'Yong mommy ko, parang gripo ang iyak. Hanggang ngayon (iyak pa rin nang iyak),” Ciara shared on “Showbiz News Ngayon,” Dec. 10.

The singer-actress is set to marry her beau Joe Oconer in 2010. She met Joe in one of the shows “Eat Bulaga” held in the US.

Ciara shared how her boyfriend proposed to her.

“Naglalakad kami tapos parang ang seryoso niya. Sabi ko, ‘Bakit parang serious ito?’ Kinakabahan na ako. Sabi ko, ‘Bakit ganito ito, eh hindi naman namin anniversary.’

“Tapos lumuhod siya…”

She is excited over her forthcoming MMFF entry, “Mano Po 6: A Mother’s Love.”

“It’s an honor na mapasali sa cast ng ‘Mano Po 6.’ I’m very excited about it,” she said.

In the same “SNN” episode, Heart Evangelista, also a cast member of “Mano Po,” denied she got jealous of her ex-boyfriend Jericho Rosales’ kissing scenes with his ex-girlfriend Kristine Hermosa in “Dahil May Isang Ikaw.”

“Hindi ko napapanood (ang soap nila) at wala akong naramdamang selos,” she cleared.

Like Ciara, she’s glad to have worked with megastar Sharon Cuneta in “Mano Po 6.” Sharon lobbied for Heart to play her daughter in the movie.

“I’m so flattered to be chosen by the Megastar. Sana nagustuhan nila 'yong movie,” Heart said.
