Derek Ramsay seems to be the ultimate boyfriend.

His generosity, not only with material things, has been gaining for him “pogi” points among women out there.

You will remember that Derek has been figuring in the news about the “awesome” extravagant gifts he’s been showering his girlfriend Angelica Panganiban – a mini-Cooper, designer bags, trips, among so many other things.

In one interview with Derek before, he told us he is one guy who is not particularly convinced that a couple in love’s final destination should be togetherness in marriage. He said he has seen so much of broken relationships, mostly from married people, that is why he doesn’t believe that a union in that context would guarantee the longevity of the relationship.

But because he cares for and loves his girlfriend Angelica Panganiban so much, he said he is willing to give Angelica a wedding because he knows how important that is to the actress. “If that is the one thing that I can offer Angelica to make her happiness complete, then, by all means I am willing to give her that,” he said during the press conference for his latest movie, “I Love You Goodbye,” Star Cinema’s official entry to this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival. Derek and Angelica are starring in this Laurice Guillen-directed film which also casts Gabby Concepcion and Kim Chiu.

He confirmed that they have been talking about marriage but where and when will that take place exactly, that is still a question.

Derek candidly talked about their romantic scenes in “I Love You Goodbye.” He said, “I must admit that it is easy to lose yourself in scenes like that with Angelica. Kung hindi lang sisigaw si Direk Laurice ng cut, baka hindi na ako tumigil. The setting naman kasi is so romantic.”

He commented his girlfriend Angelica for her worth as an actress. “She is a very good actress. At first it confuses me to see Angelica turn into a different person when in front of the camera. But she is good,” he said.

Derek is so thankful that he is considered to be one of ABS-CBN’s prized talents at this point in his career. “This has been a very good year for me. I have been so blessed and I am very thankful to ABS-CBN for all of these,” he said.

“I Love You Goodbye,” after its run in the MMFF season this Christmas, will be going to the US to premiere on Jan. 8-14 in the following cities: San Diego, Las Vegas, Honolulu, Seattle, Jersey City, San Francisco and Los Angeles.

Sharon doesn’t  plan to pursue case for her inheritance

The megastar Sharon Cuneta said although she feels that she got the low end of the bargain when she ended up not getting any inheritance from her late Dad, she is not pushing for any legal action against anybody.

“I have an idea who might be responsible for it. Siguro kaya siya mayaman ngayon. But I am not filing any court action. Bahala na ang Diyos sa kanila,” she said during the press conference of “Mano Po 6,” her latest movie which is Regal Films’ official entry to this year’s MMFF. Sharon arrived almost four hours late for her press con but she managed to charm those who waited patiently for her to arrive.

This “Mano Po” franchise is considered to be the biggest and most expensive to date, according to the producer, Mother Lily Monteverde. “I’ve always wanted to work with Sharon. I am happy that now, that dream is fulfilled. I am happy she finally said yes.”

Everyone says Sharon is a shoo in for the Best Actress award for her portrayal in this film. “Who doesn’t want to win best actress? Thank you to all who say that, to all who believe that I can win. It is nice to work on a memorable film that will make people remember you in the years to come,” she said.

“Mano Po 6” is directed by Joel Lamangan and also casts Zsa Zsa Padilla, Kris Aquino, Dennis Trillo, Heart Evangelista, Boots Anson Roa, Ciara Sotto, Ryan Eigenmann, JC De Vera, John Manalo, Glaiza de Castro, Zoren Legaspi, and Ricky Davao.
