President Arroyo said Wednesday that her New Year’s resolution is to be an “easier subject” to cover.

In the remaining six months of her administration, President Arroyo also thanked the media for “your patience with me.”

Addressing the officers and members of the Malacañang Press Corps and their families during the Christmas party she hosted at the Heroes’ Hall, the President also renewed her ties with the journalists from print, radio and TV, including photojournalists covering her since her first day at Malacañang Palace in 2001.

“I'd like to take this opportunity to greet you all, thank you all for your patience with me. I know I'm not an easy subject to cover but I hope that in the remaining months of my administration I'll be an easier subject for you,” she said.

The President entertained seldom entertained ambush media interviews at the Palace. She usually asked her spokespersons to face them even the issues demand for her personal explanation.

“Christmas time is a time when we renew our good feelings towards one another; good will. And I'm happy that even if this is the last Christmas that we will spend together in Malacañang, we're all here together and we look forward to a prosperous new year for the entire nation,” the President said.

“Sa inyong lahat, maraming-maraming salamat sa inyong pagpapasensiya sa akin and even if it's late in the day, I still continue with my New Year's resolution to be an easier subject to cover,” Mrs. Arroyo said.

The President hosted the Christmas party a day after she flew to Copenhagen to attend a climate change conference where she is expected to call on the rich economies to cut their carbon emissions and to call for the immediate creation of a financial mechanism to help the developing countries, including the Philippines to carry out their anti-climate change initiatives.
