Cristine Reyes was lying all along---that is, if what Heart Evangelista says about the matter is true.

Heart disclosed on “Showbiz News Ngayon” last Dec. 16 that it was Cristine who texted her nasty messages in an attempt to dissaude her from entertaining Dennis Trillo’s friendly advances.

"[At first], it was just forwarded text [messages], pina-forward from a common friend na...'tigilan ko na, tantanan ko.' The word is tantanan or something. She [Cristine] was very mad,” Heart revealed.

Cristine and Dennis were former lovers. The two had broken up but were seen recently dining together in Greenhills.

Talks are rife that Cristine still pines for Dennis after all this time, and that she was reportedly incensed when he was linked to Heart.

Heart clarified that she had no relationship, romantic or otherwise, with Dennis when she received the text messages. Getting those messages confused her, she said.

The actress emphasized that Cristine had apologized to her after matters were cleared.

“She said sorry naman. Pinasabi niya iyon. Hindi rin naman ako palaaway [so I let it go]. Sinabi lang na sorry na lang daw.”

When pressed to comment on Heart's revelation, Dennis who co-stars with her in the hotly anticipated “Mano Po 6,” refused to get involved.

“'Di ko alam. Siguro wag na lang nating pag-usapan, matagal na talaga 'yon.”

Prior to Heart’s interview, in an interview with SNN aired Monday, Dec. 14, Cristine denied sending Heart nasty text messages.

“Wala akong time para gumawa ng mga bagay na ganoon, lalung-lalo na para mag-aksaya ako ng oras para mag-text sa kahit na kaninong tao para buwisitin lang ang mga ito," Cristine declared.

“Ang labo lang. Bakit ko naman gagawin 'yon? Bakit ako pa sa lahat ng tao, ako pa ang pagbibintangan? Medyo nakakasama ng loob," she added.
