8 Zambales mayors back Ebdane in gubernatorial race
SUBIC BAY FREEPORT – Eight mayors of Zambales are endorsing Hermogenes ‘Jun’ Ebdane Jr. in the gubernatorial race, more than half of the number of municipalities in Zambales.
According to Mayor’s League of Zambales president Jose Rodriguez, incumbent mayor of San Marcelino, the group has drafted a resolution endorsing the former public works and highways secretary for the gubernatorial post in Zambales.
The Mayor’s League of Zambales is composed of Rodriguez, San Narciso Mayor William Lim, Candelaria Mayor Jean Moraña, Masinloc Mayor Jesu Edora, Botolan Mayor Roger Yap, San Felipe Mayor Edilberto Abille, San Antonio Mayor Romeo Lonzanida, and Sta. Cruz Mayor Chito Marty.
The league has endorsed Ebdane through the political will of former Zambales Governor Vicente Magsaysay.
“These mayors have been my friends and have supported my campaign during my time as governor of Zambales.
Now I’m relieving them to Jun (Ebdane) who is surely capable to handle the problems facing our province,” Magsaysay said.
According to some of the mayors present during the meeting, most of their projects were either scrapped or were not funded enough. Some expressed dissatisfaction over the incumbent governor’s lack of service.
Magsaysay, who is running for the mayoral position in Olongapo, also expressed dissatisfaction over his incumbent governor friend for not doing more for their province.
