Ilocos Norte Rep. Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. underscored Wednesday the need for the Nacionalista Party (NP) to look for celebrity endorsers who can match the well-known movie and television personalities supporting the candidacy of Liberal Party standard-bearer Sen. Benigno ‘Noynoy’ Aquino III.

Marcos admitted that the backing of showbiz heavyweights like Kris Aquino, Sharon Cuneta and Vilma Santos as well as of well-known broadcaster Korina Sanchez is an advantage for Noynoy.

The opposition lawmaker said he acknowledges the influence of K ris, Sharon, Vilma and Korina over the voters, urging NP presidential candidate Sen. Manuel “Manny” Villar Jr. to get his own set of endorsers who can match their popularity and power.

“We can expect an equal fight if NP will get popular young stars to endorse Manny’s candidacy,” Marcos said.
He suggested that NP should get famous singer-actress Sarah Geronimo, who is a role model for the youth because of her wholesome image, as Manny’s endorser.

“Aside from Ms. Geronimo, NP may also ask for the endorsement of Ginger Conejero of ABS-CBN or Pia Guanio of GMA-7,” Marcos said.
