MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin, December 18, 2009 (AFP) - Brandon Jennings, the leading scorer for the Milwaukee Bucks, was fined 7,500 dollars by the NBA on Friday for Tweeting too soon after a game.

The rookie playmaker, who averages team highs of 20.7 points and six assists a game, posted his message on his account at the social networking website Twitter after a 108-101 double-overtime triumph over Portland last Saturday.

"Back to 500. Yess!!! "500" means where doing good. Way to Play Hard Guys," was the message posted by Jennings.

NBA rules state that players cannot tweet during games but also ban the practice for 45 minutes before games start or before players have spoken with reporters after games.

Jennings, who tweeted about half an hour too son, expressed his astonishment at the fine in several Twitter postings Friday.

"I understand I got fined, but 7,500? For being happy over a win, you would of thought I said something bad. I mean it was a big win for us," Jennings said.

"Why should we have Twitter if I gotta wait two hours after. I might as well not tweet at all."

The Bucks, 11-12, rank sixth in the Eastern Conference.
