Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl) has reported that its air cargo tonnage throughput for November 2009 rose by 18.8 percent to 241,157 tons.

Cumulative tonnage from January to November dropped by 11.6 percent to 2.09 million tons compared with the same period last year.

Export volume in November increased 18.0% against last year to 139,994 tonnes. Aggregate export volume for the first eleven months was 1,106,250 tonnes, down 15.3% compared with the same period last year.

The import volume for November showed a year-on-year growth of 29.1%, with 60,530 tonnes registered. Aggregate import volume for the first eleven months was 559,328 tonnes, representing a decline of 6.8% against the same period last year.

Transshipment volume for November and for the first eleven months were 40,633 tonnes and 425,551 tonnes respectively, representing 8.1% increase and 7.4% decline year-on-year for the respective periods. (EHL)
