EAST RUTHERFORD, New Jersey (AFP) — Kobe Bryant had 29 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Los Angeles Lakers to a 103-84 victory over the New Jersey Nets on Saturday.

Pau Gasol finished with 14 points, 14 rebounds and six assists for Los Angeles who have won 14 of their past 15 games.

Lamar Odom had 14 points and 12 rebounds coming off the bench. Jordan Farmar added 14 points for the Lakers who won their third straight since a defeat at Utah last weekend.

Devin Harris had 21 points to lead the Nets, who suffered their seventh-straight loss. Chris Douglas-Roberts finished with 20 points, while Brook Lopez had 18 points and 11 rebounds.

The game at the Izod Center arena was played with a blizzard raging outside.

The Lakers, who have the NBA's best record (21-4), easily beat the team with the league's worst mark (2-26).

Magic 92, Blazers 83

ORLANDO, Florida (AP) — The Orlando Magic overcame a sluggish first half to beat the Portland TrailBlazers 92-83 on Friday and reclaim a share of the lead in the NBA’s Southeast Division.

Dwight Howard had 12 points, 20 rebounds and four blocks to help Orlando beat Portland for the sixth time in the past seven meetings.

Portland’s Brandon Roy had 33 points but the Trail Blazers ran out of energy in the second half, shooting just 34 percent and being outrebounded 54-35.

The score was 76-76 with 6:53 left before the Magic went on an 11-0 run to seize control.
