No more Regine and Eagle on ‘Unang Hirit?’
TV host-dancer Regine Tolentino and Eagle Riggs allegedly refused to renew their contract with GMA-7 because their talent fees were not hiked.
The two who co-host the network's early morning show "Unang Hirit" were said to have expected a bit of an increase in their new contract. According to sources, this did not materialize.
A veteran showbiz insider, Eagle hosts the Eagle's Eye segment of the morning show where he tackles the hottest showbiz news and gossips.
Dance diva Regine, meanwhile, is in charge of introducing the latest dance craze to early morning televiewers.
Since its inception in 1999, "Unang Hirit" has been consistently dishing out the freshest news in politics, showbiz, lifestyle, music, arts, and culture. It had just celebrated its 10th year anniversary, making it the longest-running morning show in the country.
As a compleat morning show, “Unang Hirit” introduced various segments in 2009 including the UH Health Watch, Bati Booth, One-On-One with Igan (Arnold Clavio), Pet Talk, Beauty Booth, and Eagle's Eye (Riggs's showbiz segment).
“Unang Hirit” is hosted by Arnold Clavio, Rhea Santos, Suzi Entrata-Abrera, Lyn Ching-Pascual, Lhar Santiago, and Love Anover. It airs weekdays from 5:15 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
With the inclusion of new faces including Jolina Magdangal and Sunshine Dizon, fans of the show are worried that both Regine and Eagle are already goners.
