Howard helps Magic silence Jazz
ORLANDO, Florida, December 21, 2009 (AFP) - Dwight Howard scored 21 points and J.J. Redick added 20, sparking the Orlando Magic past Utah 104-99 on Monday, giving the hosts their fourth victory in five NBA games.
Rashard Lewis added 18 points for the Magic and joined Redick in sparking a decisive 15-2 run late in the fourth quarter, turning an 84-79 Jazz lead into a 94-86 Orlando edge. The Magic never lost the lead again.
Magic point guard Jameer Nelson played for the first time since surgery a month ago on his left knee. He scored two points in limited action for the Magic, who went 9-of-21 from 3-point range.
Paul Millsap scored 23 points and Deron Williams added 18 to lead Utah, which fell to 16-12.
The defending Eastern Conference champion Magic improved to 21-7, matching Boston for the most wins this season in the East.
