Girls Generation recently added yet another award to its haul when their phenomenal hit "Gee" was crowned as 2009's top song in the K-Chart of KBS’ “Music Bank” program.

The all-girl group’s song garnered 7,265 points to beat Super Junior’s “Sorry, Sorry,” which garnered 5,031 points, and 2NE1’s “I Don’t Care,” which accumulated 4,437 points.

“Gee” was released in January and became an instant hit in different music charts in Korea.

Music Bank’s K-Chart awards the number one every week for the whole year. The K-Chart winner is determined by combining digital music charts (60 percent), album sales (15 percent), number of hits on TV (15 percent), and viewers’ rating (10 percent).

Following its launch, “Gee” went on to top the K-Chart for nine straight weeks, beating the previous record of seven weeks of all-female pop group Jewelry’s “One More Time.” "Gee" also beat “Nobody” by the Wonder Girls on online music site M.net.

Super Junior also performed “Sorry, Sorry” on Music Bank minus Hankyung, who has sued SM Entertainment for unfair contract, and Kangin.

Sandara Park’s 2NE1 pop group also performed “I Don’t Care.” Other guests included SHINee, f(x), KARA, MBLAQ, BEAST, and 2PM.

Girls Generation won the Digital Daesang and Digital Bonsang Awards in the 24th Golden Disk Awards and Song of the Year among others in the first Melon Music Awards.
