Actor Patrick Garcia is not keen on discussing his son, Alex Jazz, with the mother, his former girlfriend Jennylyn Mercado.

In an interview that aired on "Showbiz News Ngayon" last Dec. 28, Patrick said he'd rather keep mum on the issue. He admitted not having yet seen AJ (Alex’s nickname) nor talked to Jennylyn about their kid.

“Anything regarding that matter, ayaw ko munang pag-usapan. I want to keep quiet (about it).”

Months back, the actor told Manila Bulletin Entertainment Online about wanting to see his son, narrating how he almost bought the young boy a Christmas gift while he was in Europe for work.

"Pumunta kami ni Richard (Gutierrez) sa isang store. May nakita akong gloves na maliliit. Maganda, may pang-baby. Parang I wanted to buy it kaso hindi ko alam ang size (ng kamay ni Alex Jazz). Gusto ko sanang bumili pero hindi ko pa nga nakikita ang anak ko," he said.

Patrick hasn't seen Alex Jazz since Jennylyn gave birth to him. He has only seen photos of the boy and AJ’s appearance on TV when Jen brought along the tot during her contract signing for Viva Films.

Patrick added that he has been sending Jennylyn text messages about the matter but is yet to receive a reply.

“Hindi ko alam kung sa kanya pa rin ang numbers na iyon. Feeling ko, hindi na sa kanya ang numbers,” said he.

Meanwhile, Patrick has avoided having romantic liaisons more than a year after he and Jennylyn broke up.

“May mga ibang bagay na dapat ko munang ayusin talaga sa buhay ko bago ako makipagrelasyon. Kasi kung nag-commit ako sa isang tao, dapat full commitment. Hindi puwedeng half,” he reasoned.

That said, Patrick is welcoming 2010 with so much enthusiasm. He looks forward to a brighter year ahead.

His New Year's resolution? To become a better person.

“Better than who I was the year before. [I also want to] be positive about [life]. Sana wala ng away. Sana maging okay na lahat. I want to start the New Year right.”
