“Queen Seon Duk”, 2009’s most viewed drama series in Korea, dominated the 2009 MBC Drama Awards held Dec. 30. 

Actress Go Hyun Jung, who played Lady Mi Shil in "Queen Seon Duk," bagged the night’s top prize with a Daesang Award for her outstanding performance.

"Quee Seon Duk" was also chosen as Best Drama Series. Based on TNS Media Korea, “Queen Seon Duk” is the top drama series in 2009 with an average rating of 35.3 percent.

The drama series first aired in May in Korea. In its entire run in Korea, “Queen Seon Duk” was number one in the ratings in 60 out of 62 episodes.

In the Top Excellence Awards, the best actors are Uhm Tae Woong for “Queen Seon Duk” and Yoon Sang Hyun for "Queen of the Housewives." Chosen as best actresses are Lee Yo Won for "Queen Seon Duk” and Kim Nam Joo for "Queen of Housewives.

In the Excellence Awards, the winners are actors Kim Nam Kil of "Queen Seon Duk" and Choi Chul Ho of “Queen of Housewives” and actresses Go Na Eun of “Jewel Mixed Rice” and Lee Hye Young of “Queen of Housewives.”

The New Actor Awards went to Yoo Seung Ho and Lee Seung Hyo of “Queen Seon Duk” while the New Actress Awards were given to Suh Woo of “Tamra” and Lim Joo Eun of “The Spirit.”

In the Golden Performance category, Kim Chang Hwan and Lee Young Hee of “Queen of Housewives” won in the mini-series category, while veteran actresses Jung Hye Sun of “Queen Seon Duk” and Kim Young Ok won in the soap opera category.

Actor Ahn Kil Kang and actress Suh Young Hee won in the supporting actor/actress category while the nucleus actor and actress awards went to Kang Nam Kil and Jung Ae Ri.

The Young Actor/Actress Awards went to Nam Ji Hyun, Jun Min Suh, and Lee Hyung Suk.

The Best PD Award went to Shin Goo while the Family Award went to “Enjoy Life.”

In the Netizen Awards, Lee Joon Ki, and Suh Woo won the popularity awards while Lee Yo Won and Kim Nam Kil won the best couple award.
