Actor-TV host Luis Manzano is trying his best to win back Angel Locsin even as CNN Hero Efren Peñaflorida has made public his feelings for her.

TV host Kris Aquino revealed this on “Showbiz News Ngayon,” adding how she was surprised in seeing Luis in Angel's house last weekend.

“I passed by Angel in her house in Don Antonio. Sabi niya, 'Ate, sige, puwede na kitang papasukin kasi kumpleto na 'yong furniture.’ Tapos ang ganda noong fountain, ang ganda noong sofa tapos pinaakyat niya ako sa room. She bought the lot na katabi. Magtatayo siya doon ng swimming pool tapos may workout area,” loquacious Kris began.

Then she dropped the bomb.

“Guess who was there na may dalang spaghetti? Si Luis!”

Kris proceeded to dish out more details.

“The night before, hindi siya (Luis) binaba ni Angel pero may dala siyang doughnuts. Hindi lumabas si Angel, parang ayaw niya. It's Angel's dad na humarap [kay Luis]. And then the next day, [nag]dala naman ng spaghetti (si Luis),” she narrated.

“When we were having dinner, parang si Luis wanted his mom to talk to Angel. So tinawagan niya (Luis) ang mom niya. Parang nakita ko si Angel na parang naiilang nang konti [but] they [Angel and Vilma Santos] had a nice conversation."

Kris related that Angel passed on the cellphone to her.

“I said, 'Hi Ate Vi, we're together,' and she said 'Naku, ikaw na ang bahala diyan sa dalawang 'yan. Na-miss namin siya over the holidays. Ang mabuti, nag-uusap na sila. Kris, alam mo naman 'yong anak ko, persistent talaga.'”

Before reporting to SNN, Kris said she texted Luis using her now seemingly omnipresent and much ballyhooed Blackberry.

“He said, 'I now saw Angel smile again. Please keep that smile on her face.'

“And then sinabi niya (Luis) 'I'm really going to try my best.'”

Kris said she also talked to Angel about Efren.

“While I was watching TV Patrol, tinext ko si Angel. I said, 'Gel, naku, si Efren (Peñaflorida) baka naman ma-broken hearted?’”

Angel's reply according to Kris was, “Ate, hindi, friends naman kami---and malay mo kung ano ang mangyayari.”

Prior to Kris’ revelations, the SNN staff caught Luis on cam as he was visiting Angel in her dressing room inside ABS-CBN.

“Medyo matagal din kasi kaming hindi nag-uusap,” Luis explained. “Pagpasok ko, high five kaagad kami.”

Angel was visibly fidgety over the video coverage of their meeting.

“Okay naman kasi siyempre, may pinagsamahan naman kami. Kahit ano naman kami, hindi magbabago 'yon. Medyo awkward lang. 2010, so medyo fresh start. Bagong taon, bagong buhay,” she said.

Is reconciliation in the offing?

The actress was non-committal. “Mas importanteng maging friends muna kami,” she said.

Luis echoed, “Siguro, back to basics muna.”

On “The Buzz” last Sunday, Angel explained her behavior during Luis’ visit in her dressing room.

“Medyo ang sama ko noong interview, magpapaliwanag lang ako. Kasi parang ang tagal naming hindi nagkita, tapos nagkita kami. Sobrang awkward lang ng kilos ko. Parang hindi ko lang alam kung paano kumilos,” she explained.

And where does Efren fit in this seeming puzzle?

“Sobrang taas ng respeto ko kay Efren. Parang tinanong ko siya kung sigurado siya. Baka mas mabuti na magkakilala muna kami. Para if ever na may makita siyang hindi maganda sa akin, okay lang na magbackout siya. 'Yong gano'n.

“Ayoko munang ma-in love. Tulad ngayon, nag-start kami uling mag-usap ni Luis. Ayoko naman kasing magpaasa. Ayokong sabay-sabay dine-date,” she said.
