Talent manager Arnold Vegafria quashed rumors that his controversial ward Krista Ranillo is pregnant.

The pregnancy rumor stemmed from an item written by entertainment columnist Ambet Nabus which came out in tabloids. Nabus claimed in his column that a source confirmed to him that Krista underwent medical check-up in an undisclosed hospital in Cebu on Dec. 26, a day before she flew to the U.S.

Krista reportedly "jumped for joy" upon learning of the test results. 

Quick to defend his ward from the unsavory speculations, Vegafria sent a message of denial to "Showbiz News Ngayon," Jan. 5.

Vegafria's statement read: "Krista Ranillo is not pregnant. All these rumors about her being pregnant are false. In fact, Krista is taping an action scene in 'Agimat'...plus, we just signed an endorsement that particularly states that she cannot be pregnant. So, I wish that we all could put these rumors to rest and move on. Thank you."

In earlier interviews, Krista said she will spend the holidays in the U.S. as she always does with family members who are based there, as well as help out in the family's new business, a restaurant.

The pregnancy rumor is the latest controversy to hit the beleaguered sexy actress after she was romantically linked to pound-for-pound boxing champ Manny Pacquiao.

In a Facebook chat interview with GMA-7's Nelson Canlas in November, Krista had already denied that she was in that interesting stage.

“No dear, I'm not pregnant,” she told Canlas, adding firmly that time that she was still very much on with her boyfriend Dominic Zapata.

Vegafria announced then that he will hold a presscon for Krista after they've talked.

"I'm now in Paris and Krista is now in the U.S. But we spoke kanina and we've talked about how we're going to handle all these allegations sa kanya. When I get back, I will hold a presscon to answer all those allegations sa kanya na mga negative," he said.

However, no such press conference materialized even after Krista returned to Manila to resume shooting for "Wapakman," her movie with Manny.
