Actress Angelica Panganiban is disappointed for not winning the Best Actress trophy at the recently-concluded Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) awards night.

Megastar Sharon Cuneta bested Angelica and a host of other actresses in the category. Sharon won for her portrayal of a domineering Chinese businesswoman in “Mano Po 6: A Mother’s Love.”

Siyempre, kahit papaano...” a disheartened Angelica admitted on “Showbiz News Ngayon,” Jan. 6.

The actress feels she deserves the recognition, especially after many people complimented her for a job well done.

But it's not that big a loss considering how lucky the actress in other aspects of her life. Just recently, the actress spent a very memorable holiday with boyfriend Derek Ramsay.

“Nag-Marinduque kami noong New Year. Pinayagan ako ng Mama ko. Five days kami doon,” she said.

Unlike previous occasions when the two lavished each other with expensive gifts, this time, Angelica and Derek just gave each other simple but memorable gifts.
