Qatar deports welder
Qatar authorities deported an Overseas Filipino Worker who was mistaken to be Jason Aguilar Ivler, who is the prime suspect in the killing of Renato Ebarle Jr., only son of Presidential Chief of Staff Undersecretary Renato Ebarle Sr. last Nov. 18, 2009 after a traffic altercation.
Deported last January 7, 2010, was Jason Vivar Aguilar, a 26-year-old welder from Calumpit, Bulacan, who arrived aboard a Qatar Airlines flight QR648 at 9:15 a.m.
Aguilar was picked up by police officials in Doha last Dec. 31 after his name showed up on the list of persons involved in transnational crimes.
Lito Magno, chief of the NBI Special Action Unit disclosed that the Qatar officials immediately informed them that they had the suspect in custody and asked that his identity be verified.
According to Magno, records they received about Jason Aguilar showed that he left the country on the morning of Nov. 18, 2009. The crime happened in the evening of the same date. Moreover, upon receiving Aguilar’s photos, the NBI informed the Qatar officials that the person they had in their custody was in fact, a different person and not the Jason Aguilar Ivler they were looking for.
