Foldable Boombox for iPods makes sharing cool sounds with your friends easier.

"Whenever we travel, we always visit gift shops and interesting novelty boutiques.  We end up spending hours on end in those stores, amazed at the innovative designs,” shares Zerl Chan-Ortiz-Luis, the eldest of four Chan sisters who run the novelty store, Quirks. This led to the idea of selling fun products online and at bazaars.

What started out as a small-scale business back in 2008 has become a full-fledged store the Chan sisters call their own, Quirks at Level 3 of Power Plant mall.  “We began only with a few products and gradually diversified to headphones and, eventually, to more gift and novelty items including home, living, and desk accessories,” adds Zerl.

To kick off 2010, this weekend marks their first sale (10 to 30 percent off) and a new batch of home accessories.  Zerl kept with the theme of “renew” by choosing products that help renew your home, redesign your space, and reorganize your desk—the fun, Quirk way.
