Fans hold protest to bring back ex-2PM leader

Fans of Park Jaebum eagerly await their idol’s return to Korea nowadays more for urgency than adulation.
The former leader of boy band 2PM left South Korea four months ago for America amid pressures from detractors about an alleged “anti-Korean” comment he made on the popular networking site, Myspace.
Jaebum supposedly wrote: “Korea is gay. I hate Koreans. I wanna come back [to the US].”
According to news reports, Jaebum, who grew up in the U.S., made the comments a few years back when he was still a trainee under 2PM management arm, JYP Entertainment.
The singer's die hard fans, collectively called "Hottests," couldn't care less.
They held a protest Sunday at the Seoul Subway Station -- enduring the cold weather that is currently sweeping the capital city -- to urge JYP Entertainment founder Park Jin-young to bring back Jaebum as leader of 2PM.
Accounts on the protest posted on 2PM English fan site "2oneday" and Korean web portal "Daum" estimated the number of protesters at 50 to 70 persons.
According to "2oneday," the protesters were heard shouting, "2PM is forever seven members. Please remember it. Have a happy new year.”
A message on one of the placards read: “Once a leader, forever a leader.”
The group is planning to hold another rally in front of JYP Entertainment building in Seoul.
Other fans across the globe who read the news post expressed their support to the protesters.
“KHottests are so dedicated,” one fan wrote.
After Jaebum's departure last year, 2PM was left with only six members. The group launched their new album, “1:59 PM,” without Jaebum.
