Top DJs abroad found the dance format of Max 103.5 FM pretty exciting that they expressed interest in offering their shows to the station. That resulted to three foreign shows landing slots at the reformatted FM frequency which used to play the more common high-end pop radio stuff.

With its shout-out “Move To iT,” Max FM now delivers club music which according to station manager Nelson Capulso, popularly known as DJ Sergeant “Sarge” Pepper, “gives rhythm to the lifestyle” of clubbers and dance music listeners. Three of its programs are delivered by foreign DJs, particularly “Vandit Knights” which is carried through the airwaves by Paul Van Dyke’s camp. The famous spinner from Berlin, along with other European DJs, is playing new and original club tracks exclusively being heard every Friday night at 9 p.m.

Another top DJ named Christian Fisher of Leipzig, Germany also e-mailed the station upon learning of its format and offered the show Bryzant Radio. It is currently going on-air every Saturday night, 9 p.m. This one alternates with something from Buenos Aires, Argentina called “Ladies on Mars.”

“We felt that everyone is doing the same thing, and being in the same bandwagon doesn’t help add finesse to who we are and how we wanted to offer change and diversity to radio,” says Sarge who guides a pack of party-going DJs in running the format that’s been running since June last year.

Aside from the foreign programs, Max FM counts big on the mini-mixes playlist of “Quarter Attack” which is on air practically the whole day and before the party show “Club Max.”

Sarge is upbeat about how the format is being received, stating, “Manila is dancing to our tunes, and that’s what we want to offer: A pace to their routine, a beat to their lifestyle. We want to have a positive and steady rhythm in Maxville.”
