Below is the official word from ABS-CBN regarding the suspension of “Showtime:”

“In the spirit of self-regulation, ABS-CBN removed Rosanna Roces as a judge in ‘Showtime’ after she made statements against fellow judge Vice Ganda last Jan. 4 and the teachers last Jan. 7 during the live shows. But despite this, MTRCB still imposed a 20-day preventive suspension for the program.

A preventive suspension is issued to stop further violations, if there were any committed, or for the interest or welfare of the public. Thus, the network questions the need for said preventive suspension when Rosanna Roces has already been removed from the program.

‘Showtime’ is a highly entertaining show watched by many Filipinos. It helps promote and showcase the creativity and talent of kapamilyas nationwide, uplifts their spirit and provides opportunities to improve their lives.”

Kris goes back to ‘Pilipinas Got Talent’

Queen of all media Kris Aquino, after announcing last month that she resigned from “Pilipinas Got Talent,” is back (is this final?). She will be joined by former ABS-CBN President Freddie Garcia and another unnamed personality as judges of the country’s biggest talent and reality show “Pilipinas Got Talent” airing February on ABS-CBN.

In Juicy Corner’s last encounter with Kris at her K Collection launch a month ago, she gave us her statement on why she resigned: “My teleserye’s (‘Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo’) shoot is every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Nakakauwi ako 4 or 5 in the morning. And nafi-feel ko talaga na 'yong kids hinahanap talaga ako. James was also complaining to the point he’s asking ‘gaano katagal nga yan?’ (taping). So I talked to Tita Cory (Vidanes) and I said I don’t have to be selfish. Hindi kailangan na bawat show na i-offer sa akin ay [dapat mapunta sa] akin. I’m sure there’ll be other judges better than me. Sabi ko I’m sorry. It’s a decision for my kids and for my health. I have to make a choice. Hindi ako magiging suwapang sa work and I’ll spend time na lang with my family. Sobrang dami na kasi nang nasasabi ni Baby James [na hindi ko nasusubaybayan]. Si Josh ang daming programs sa school na nami-miss ko. Kesa naman ma-feel ko na wala akong kwentang nanay, mas okay na i-give up ko yung ibang trabaho. Hindi naman kami magugutom kung hindi ko gawin yung trabahong yan.”

Without any clear reasons, she’s now back as one of the judges.

Luis is Sarah’s next leading man

After the success of two box-office movies of Sarah Geronimo with John Lloyd Cruz (“A Very Special Love” and “You Changed My Life”), another much-awaited project is in the offing. This time, box-office queen Sarah will star opposite Young Superstar Judy Ann Santos.

For the said film, her leading man will no longer be John Lloyd but Luis Manzano. This she confirmed in an interview aired recently  over “TV Patrol.” Will Luis equal or surpass John Lloyd as the box-office king? Or a much better question is, will his team up with the popstar click?

Meanwhile, another movie for Sarah is in the works – a special ABS-CBN/Viva-produced film pairing her with heartthrob Sam Milby.
