Angel Locsin admits that she did go out with Efren Peñaflorida but that’s all there is to it.

CNN Hero of the Year Efren Peñaflorida’s chances with actress Angel Locsin look very slim.

Angel made it clear that all she could offer him -- at least for now -- is her friendship and, no, she’s not playing hard to get.

“Hindi naman ako nagpapaligaw. Right now, we’re good friends lang talaga,” Angel emphasized in her taped interview aired on “Showbiz News Ngayon,” Jan 21.

Angel admits that she did go out with the CNN hero but that’s all there is to it.

“Minsan pumupunta siya sa bahay kasama yung mga kids. Minsan lumabas kami. Nanoood kami ng sine kasama ang mga bata. 'Yon naman 'yong usapan din namin, eh. Ayoko 'yong kausap ko si Luis (Manzano) tapos may kausap akong iba. Ayoko namang magpaasa ng tao,” she said.

Angel seems to be keener in giving erstwhile boyfriend Luis a chance. Reports have it that Luis is a constant visitor in the Colmenares' residence nowadays. He also takes time to visit Angel wherever she works.

“May effort naman siya. Na-appreciate ko naman. Tingnan natin kung ano ang...hindi naman kami nagmamadali. Siyempre, hindi naman ma-i-aalis kung gaano ka-espesyal si Luis.

“[But] right now, ayaw ko munang pumasok sa isang relationship,” said Angel.

In one of Luis' visits, he even got his mom -- multi-awarded actress-turned-politician Vilma Santos -- to talk to Angel.

“Nakaka-tense siyempre [na] kakausapin ko si Tita (Vilma). Si Luis, tumawag kasi para magsumbong yata. Hindi na nga kami nag-uusap tapos isusumbong niya ako.

“Si Tita naman, sobrang sweet talaga. Bukod sa fan pa ako, nahihiya pa ako dahil siyempre mommy nga siya ni Luis tapos ang bait-bait niya sa akin. Napakabait niya (Vilma) and I’m happy nakausap ko siya,” Angel recalled.

TV host Kris Aquino, who witnessed Luis’ persistence in pursuing Angel, clarified the matter, sharing with her TV audiences what Luis told his mom during that eventful dinner.

“Alam mo kung ano ang isinumbong ni Luis? Baka lang kasi akalain n’yo kung ano ang isinumbong niya eh...nag-imbento siya (Luis) ng sumbong. Sabi niya, 'Mommy, you know what Angel did? She bought a pirated [copy] of “In My Life” and that’s what she’s watching.' Hindi naman totoo 'yon. I’m sure, Angel is the last person na susuporta sa mga pirata, ‘di ba?” Kris shared.

Ever loquacious, Kris also revealed how Angel feels now that she’s being wooed not by one, but two guys.

“She told me kasi, noong kinakamusta ko siya...dahil sabi ko, maraming kalungkutan sa buhay ko ngayon...meron siyang isang shoutout one time na, 'Ang haba-haba ng hair niya.' Sabi niya, 'Ate, naapakan mo na ba?' Sabi ko, 'Bakit?' Sabi niya, 'Ang daming choices.'

“So sabi ko, 'Sino ba talaga?' and then she told me nga na talagang very good friends sila ni Efren, pero as far as Luis is concerned, sabi niya, 'Naku, ate, tapusin niya muna ang 'Pilipinas Got Talent.' Medyo matagal pa 'yon, ha?” Kris revealed.
