Kris on James: ‘Magkasama naman kami ngayon pero pina-punish ko pa siya ng konti.’

Kris Aquino and James Yap are warming up to each other again.

The TV host-actress has returned to their Valle Verde nest in Pasig two days after she moved to her sister Pinky’s house with her sons, Joshua and Baby James.

“Magkasama naman kami ngayon. Pero pina-punish ko pa siya ng konti,” Kris said, chuckling, on “Unang Hirit,” Jan 22. “Pero maayos naman na. Sinisikap namin na maging maayos ang pagsasama namin.”

The famous couple made headlines last week after Kris confronted Mayen Austria, a basketball fan of James’ team, who reportedly kept calling, texting, and sending food to her cager-husband. Sunday, Jan. 17, Kris confessed on “The Buzz” that her marriage with James was on the rocks.

While she admits that their troubled marriage needs some mending, Kris says that the issue involving Mayen is over.

“Ang lahat ng mga babaeng may asawa, naunawaan kung saan ako nanggagaling. So siguro, tapos na 'yon as far as I’m concerned. Unless of course, siyempre, kung may balak pang guluhin ang asawa ko, ibang usapan 'yon,” she said.

For the Queen of All Media, “[What’s important] is may commitment kaming dalawa to make it okay.”

Meanwhile, the Austria family has settled matters with Kris after she publicly apologized for inadvertently dragging Mayen’s mother into the controversy.

“They did reach out to my family to express a desire na maayos lahat. And kasi 'yong mommy, si Mrs. Austria na napuntahan at nakausap ko, 'yong younger sister niya, classmate ni Pinky sa Poveda.

“So nag-reach out naman [ang sister ni Mrs. Austria] kay Pinky to say na naintindihan nila, and na-appreciate nila 'yong ginawa ko naman daw na mag-sorry ako sa mom [ni Mayen]. At sila rin humihingi ng paumanhin,” she related.

The Aquino-Yap family will soon be leaving their Valle Verde house to temporarily reside at a condominium in Taguig lent by their friend. They will then move to their condo unit in Makati after a month.

No doubt, the couple is determined to prove that their union will last amid early predictions that they are going to separate because of a possible third party on Kris’ side.
